Victoria

Michigan State University - East Lansing, Michigan

Victoria stands at the southwest corner of Michigan State University’s Breslin Center as a monumental gateway to the west end of campus. While the arena celebrates the excitement of sport, Victoria honors an equally profound achievement: academic excellence and personal growth. Composed of seven polished stainless-steel forms that rise and converge skyward, the sculpture evokes both the strength and spirit of the Spartan ethos. Its spear-like geometry suggests motion, unity, and aspiration, while its reflective surfaces capture and transform light, day and night. Glowing like a ceremonial torch, Victoria embodies the pursuit of knowledge and triumph, serving as a radiant symbol of collective pride and enduring inspiration.
