Propulsion

Private Residence – Mercer Island, Washington

Propulsion’s soaring gesture emerges from a lush botanical garden of a private residence along the shoreline of Lake Washington. Careful attention was given to the surrounding Pacific Northwest landscape and the sculpture site to create an artwork that is both responsive and contextual. Constructed from finely finished stainless steel pipe and metal panel, the sculpture’s elegant structure surrounds an acrylic light sconce projecting through it’s core. The finished stainless materials will absorb and reflect the beautiful waterfront landscape during the day, while at night Propulsion serves as a shoreline beacon awakening through long slow pulsations of colored light.
